I’ve been thinking a lot about how easy it is to lose yourself without even realising it. Sometimes it isn’t dramatic. Sometimes it is one adjustment at a time. One compromise. One moment of comparison. One decision to control what feels uncertain. And before you know it, you are trying to become someone else to secure what you are afraid you might lose.

About
The Woman Behind the Words
Behind every story is a life that has shaped it. A collection of experiences, questions, discoveries and moments that don’t always find their way into words.
For Thandie Sterling, storytelling is both an art and a way of making sense of the world.
A writer, poet, speaker and creative storyteller, Thandie has always been drawn to the complexities of the human experience. The things people carry, the identities they inherit, the stories they believe about themselves, and the beautiful, often uncomfortable process of becoming.
Rooted in her Christian faith, her work explores identity, love, belonging, purpose and everything in between. Whether through poetry, conversations, speaking or visual storytelling, she brings a curiosity about people and a genuine love for the power of words.
At the heart of her work is a simple desire: to create something that reaches beyond the moment it is experienced. Something that makes people feel, question, reflect and perhaps see themselves a little differently.

“The wilderness has a way of stripping away noise, until all that remains is the voice of God and the truth of who he says you are.”
